Community of Practice
The IDEA Initiative has discussed the development of a University-wide platform based on the concept of the 3C’s (Crowdsourcing, Community of Practice and Collaboratory) as a collaborative platform for data-sharing. Crowdsourcing would allow one to collect and lift up ideas from across the University for advancing global health equity. The community of practice would take the form of a page, customizable by the user, to receive feed from Centers or news sources related to the users’ particular interests. The collaboratory would enable research project teams, including both those on campus and their partners beyond the University, to collaborate better. An online storage tool might allow teams to share internal folders, manage various projects, and collaborate on shared documents. Therefore, once researchers find potential collaborators, the platform can also serve to support the collaboration effort.
